DANVILLE, Ky. (CentreColonels.com) – The inaugural Centre Louisville Open presented by Sterling G. Thompson Co. will be held on Monday, Aug. 14 at Audubon Country Club. The fundraising event will include a golf outing, the Centre Athletics Social sponsored by Republic Bank, and a grand prize raffle for a unique piece of Stephen Rolfe Powell '74 glass blown art.
The Centre Louisville Open is intended to engage and celebrate the thousands of Centre College alumni, parents, and supporters in the Louisville area. Revenue generated through the event will support the Praying Colonels Fund, a fund that supports Centre's 23 intercollegiate sports and nearly 600 student-athletes.

"As Centre has become a nationally renowned institution, the Louisville area remains home to nearly 25 percent of our current student-athletes. Centre Louisville Open presented by Sterling G. Thompson Co. Golf Outing
Through the hard work of the committee and a strong response, the golf outing is sold out for this year. The tournament will feature 28 foursomes competing in a four-person shamble format.
Audubon Country Club, founded in 1908, has long been considered one of the top courses in the region. Eric Gilliland '93, has served as the Head PGA Golf Professional at Audubon since 1999.
Centre Athletic Social sponsored by Republic Bank
The Centre Athletics Social sponsored by Republic Bank will begin at 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14 at Audubon Country Club. Golfers and non-golfers are invited for a social networking event celebrating Centre College and the impact the Louisville area has made on the institution. Cost for non-golfers will be $25 per person, and all planning to attend are encouraged to register at alumni.centre.edu/clo2017.
Grand Prize Raffle: Blown Glass Art by Stephen Rolfe Powell '74
At the social, a raffle will be held for a unique piece of Stephen Rolfe Powell '74 glass blown art valued at approximately $25,000. Centre will be selling 500 raffle tickets for $100 each to those attending the Centre Louisville Open and/or Centre Athletics Social. Raffle tickets can be purchased as part of the social registration or at alumni.centre.edu/cloraffle2017.
