NEW ORLEANS - The US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released its final postseason academic awards for the 2018 cross country season and Centre was well represented, with both teams earning All-Academic honors and junior Annie Rodenfels (Centerville, Ohio) recognized as an individual All-Academic performer.
For a team to be considered for All-Academic status, it must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale. Centre earned this distinction with each of its cross country teams, as the men's team posted a GPA of 3.12 for the fall semester, while the women's team finished with a GPA of 3.13 for the fall.
All-Academic Individuals must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet to receive the honor from the USTFCCCA. Rodenfels not only excelled in the classroom, but also in a fantastic junior season with the women's cross country team where she became the program's second All-American in as many years and third all-time.
