Southern Athletic Association championship information

ATLANTA –With all spring regular seasons completed yesterday, the Colonels enter Southern Athletic Association postseason play this weekend. Below details where each squad will be competing, as well as tournament information, brackets and more. 

Most game times are still to be determined and will be added when they become available.

BASEBALL

Bracket

Location: Memphis, Tenn. (Rhodes)

The Colonels finished the conference slate 6-12, earning the six-seed and a spot in the Memphis pod, hosted by two-seed Rhodes. Centre faces three-seed Oglethorpe in the first round Thursday. The Colonels won one of three games against Stormy Petrels in Danville Mar. 10-11, with each game decided by one run.

The double-elimination format will see one team advance from Memphis, and another from the pod hosted by top-seeded Berry in Rome, Ga. The two regional winners will meet Apr. 28-29 for the championship series.

MEN'S & WOMEN'S GOLF

Location: Dickson, Tenn. (Greystone Golf Club)

Both Colonel golf squads will be competing in the three-day tournament Apr. 20-22 in Dickson, Tenn., located roughly 40 miles west of Nashville.

MEN'S LACROSSE

Bracket

Location: Birmingham, Ala. (BSC)

Centre finished 2-4 in the SAA, claiming the five-seed in the conference's six-team tournament. The Colonels will travel to face four-seed Birmingham Southern Friday in the quarterfinals, and, with a win, would advance to meet top-seeded Rhodes in Memphis, Tenn., Sunday in the semifinals. Centre fell 14-7 against BSC earlier this season on the road.

The highest remaining seed after the semifinal rounds will host the championship Apr. 29. 

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Bracket

Location: Danville, Ky. (South Turf Field)

Centre's 5-1 finish in-conference guarantees a first-round bye and right to host a semifinal this Sunday, Apr. 22. The Colonels will face the winner of three-seed Sewanee and six-seed Berry, who meet Friday in Sewanee, Tenn.

The highest remaining seed after the semifinal rounds will host the championship Apr. 29.

SOFTBALL

Bracket

Location: Chattanooga, Tenn. (Warner Park)

Centre enters the seven-team double-elimination tournament as the four-seed, finishing 9-9 in the SAA. The Colonels will face five-seed Rhodes Thursday in the opening round. Centre dropped two of three against the Lynx a couple weekends ago in Memphis, Tenn.

Berry earned the overall No. 1 seed in the tournament.

MEN'S TENNIS

Bracket

Location: Murfreesboro, Tenn. (Old Fort Park)

The Colonels enter this weekend's tournament as the seven-seed, going 1-5 in the SAA, and will meet two-seed Millsaps in the quarterfinals Friday, Apr. 20. Centre dropped a 5-4 decision against the Majors back on Mar. 30.

Oglethorpe is the designated host for the tournament, with Sewanee earning the top overall seed.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

Bracket

Location: Murfreesboro, Tenn. (Old Fort Park)

The Colonel women finished 2-4 in the SAA and will be the six-seed in the upcoming tournament. They meet three-seed BSC in Friday's quarterfinal, looking to avenge a 5-3 defeat against the Panthers back on Mar. 31.

Oglethorpe is the designated host for the tournament, with Sewanee earning the top overall seed.

MEN'S & WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD

Location: Sewanee, Tenn. (Sewanee)

Centre's track and field squads will compete in the two-day SAA Championships Apr. 20-21 at Sewanee.
