DANVILLE, Ky. - Earlier today Centre head men's and women's golf coach Bryan Hearn announced the hiring of Jane Hopkinson-Wood as the new assistant golf coach at Centre College.
Hopkinson-Wood comes to Centre directly from Wittenberg University, where she just completed the most decorated career in the history of Wittenberg women's golf. While with the Tigers, Hopkinson-Wood was a four-time All-American, the only one in program history, capping off her career with a third place finish at the 2018 NCAA Championships.
In addition, Hopkinson-Wood won two medalist honors at the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament in her four years at Wittenberg, with her victory in the 2018 conference championship marking the 15th tournament victory of her collegiate career.
In a playing career full of accolades, Hopkinson-Wood was a four-time NCAC Player of the Year, the NCAC Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and a 20-time NCAC Player of the Week in her time at Wittenberg as she helped the Tigers reach their first team NCAA appearances as a program, including third place finishes as a team in the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
"We are thrilled to have Jane join our staff," said Hearn. "As a four-time All-American and 15-time medalist in Division III, Jane knows what it takes to be successful. She was a proven leader for her team at Wittenberg and will now lead the Centre golf program to new heights."
