Community Activities

The Danville Community offers a variety of recreational opportunities for members of the college community. Please click the link below to find out more about some of the activities in Danville: Danville/Boyle County Parks and Recreation Department.


Danville Bowlarama
Bowlarama is located 1 mile from campus at Greenleaf Shopping Center on Lexington Ave. The Bowlarama has 24 fully automated lanes, shoe rental, house bowling balls, and a restaurant.


Cummins Falls Marina
Canoe the Kentucky River along the beautiful Palisades area. The 300-400 foot perpendicular walls of limestone remain unchanged since Daniel Boone traversed this area. The Marina is located only 20 minutes north of campus on KY 1988 off of U.S. 127. Student discounts given with college ID.


Danville and the surrounding area have an abundance of beautiful scenic roads for cycling.

Danville Bike and Fitness
Bike and Fitness offers a wide variety of new and used cycles and equipment and is located only two blocks from Centre. The Danville Cycling Club is operated out of the store. Any member of the college community interested in cycling is encouraged to contact them to join the club or participate in their regular rides.

Disc Golf

Henry Jackson Park
Located less than a mile from campus, Jackson Park offers one of the best disc golf courses in central Kentucky. The course is a P.D.G.A. approved 9-hole course with level tee areas marked for professionals and amateurs. A course map, basic rules, and disc can be obtained by contacting the Recreation Office at ext. 5490.

Bright Leaf Golf Resort

Bright Leaf is located 3 miles north from campus on route 127. This resort offers 27 regulation holes, a lighted 9-hole, par three course, driving range, golf carts, pro shop, and a restaurant.

Old Bridge Golf Course
Old Bridge is located three miles east of Danville off Highway 34 on
Herrington Lake. The course is regulation 18-hole, par 72 with a putting green, driving range, pro shop, and snack bar.


Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge
The Refuge is located thirteen miles from campus in the Parksville knob area bordering a stretch of the North Rolling Fork River off of Highway 37 on Carpenter Creek Rd. Its five main trails cover more than 500 acres of the Refuge. The trails range from easy to strenuous.

Cummins Ferry Campground
The trails follow the river shoreline into the wooded portion of the campground where one of the most intense concentrations of rare plant species in the Bluegrass Region is on display. The campground is 20 minutes from campus on KY 1988 off of US 127.


Millennium Park
Just two blocks west of campus off Perryville Rd., Millennium Park offers a 2.14 mile paved walking/jogging trail around the park The Park also serves as a cross country course for those runners that prefer running on the ground. The park also has benches and water fountains.

Henry Jackson Park
Just two blocks north of campus off Crosshill Rd., Jackson Park has a 1 mile paved walking/jogging trail around its perimeter.
