NEWBERRY, S.C. ( – After 79 minutes of scoreless field hockey in a non-conference matchup between Centre and Division II Newberry on Friday afternoon, freshman midfielder Caroline Brotzge's (Louisville, Ky.) goal gave the Colonels their eighth consecutive victory with a 1-0 win.

Brotzge took a lead pass on a breakaway, beating Newberry goalkeeper Dakota Elzy to the right side on the game-winner. The freshman now has four goals on the season.

Brotzge and senior defender Kathryn Hardesty (Louisville, Ky.) paced Centre with two shots apiece, and Caitlyn Warren tallied a game-high three shots for the Wolves.
