Centre men finish fall schedule at Golfweek Division III Fall Invite

SANDESTIN, Fla. - The Centre men's golf team wrapped up play from the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational at Raven G.C., shooting a combined team score of 307 on Tuesday to tie for 17th place in the tournament.

The Colonels were the only team to shoot better than their previous round on both Monday and Tuesday and tied with Skidmore for a three-day score of 939. St. Thomas, Huntingdon and Illinois Wesleyan made up the top three teams on the leaderboard.

Individually, senior Andrew McKinney (Danville, Ky.) was once again the low man for Centre, having his best round of the tournament on Tuesday with a score of 72, good for one over par as he kept his mistakes to a minumum.

Senior Hall Rupert (Powells Point, N.C.) and junior Will Hellman (Louisville, Ky.) each posted rounds of 77 for the Colonels on the final day of play, tournament lows for each player.

Senior Paxton Duff (Louisville, Ky.) and junior Hans Stromberg (Lexington, Ky.) rounded out Centre's Tuesday performances with respective scores of 81 and 83.

The Centre men's golf team will be back in action in March as they begin their spring schedule.
