Tom Campbell enters his third season as head men's golf coach. It is his fifth season overall with Centre golf, as he worked exclusively with the 2010 SCAC Championship team and the 2011 team that finished seventh in the nation and featured individual national champion Chris Morris '11.
Campbell finished seventh in the 2000 Kentucky State Amateur Championship and fifth in the same tournament the following year. He is also a three-time winner of the Owensboro Men's City Championship.
In 2012 Campbell finished eighth at the Kentucky State Amateur Championship and second at the Owensboro Men's City Championship. He tied for second at the KPGA Classic and posted a 2-0 record in the KGA Challenge Cup, finishing 13th overall in the yearlong KGA points list.
In 2013, Campbell finished T-15th in the Kentucky State Amateur. The 2013 Kentucky State Amateur was Campbell’s 19th trip to the event, where he has three Top-10 finishes and 4 other Top-20 finishes in his playing career. He also had second place finishes in the Butler Inv. at Danville Country Club and the KPGA Classic at Kearney Hills Golf Course in Lexington, KY as well as an eighth place finish in the Owensboro Men’s City Tournament.
In addition to his experience at Centre, Campbell has spent one year as head men's coach at Transylvania, five years as head men's coach at Kentucky Wesleyan and one year as head women's golf coach at Kentucky Wesleyan. Campbell spent seven years as an assistant girls' golf coach at Owensboro Apollo and Owensboro Catholic High School, where he coached seven players that went on to play golf at the college level, including two at the Division I level.
