Robbe Tarver ’14 Added to @UofLMensSoccer Coaching Staff

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (CentreColonels.com) – After serving as an assistant men's soccer coach at Centre for the last three seasons, Robbe Tarver '14 will join the University of Louisville men's soccer coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the Cardinals in 2017.

"I am so happy and proud of Robbe," said Centre head coach Jeb Burch '94. "He has come a long way from his freshman year Yo-Yo Test to become one of the best young college coaches I know.

The opportunity to join one of the top coaching staffs in the country is something Robbe has wanted and it has happened. We could not be more happy for him. This is the perfect next step for Robbe as a coach and I know he will do great."

At Louisville, Tarver will assist with scouting opponents and the daily operation of training sessions with the team.

The Cardinals are coming off a season in which they advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals before falling to eventual national champion Stanford. Louisville posted a 5-2-1 ledger in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play. The Cardinals open the 2017 season against UC Irvine on August 25 at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium.

Tarver joins another Centre alum in David Horne '07 on the Cardinals' staff, who serves as the Director of Soccer Operations. Tarver and Horne are among the many Centre men's soccer alumni who currently hold a position in college coaching.

Tarver has served as an assistant coach for the Colonels since 2014. He helped Centre capture its first Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Tournament Championship and the Colonels' sixth conference championship crown overall in 2016.

Centre opens the 2017 campaign at the brand new Andrew P. Amend Stadium with the 2017 Centre College Alumni Classic against Georgetown (Ky.) on Friday, Sept. 1 at 8:30pm ET. With a veteran team in addition to a strong incoming freshmen class a transfer, Burch and the Colonels expect to make a push to repeat as SAA champions in 2017.
