Colonels Bested by SAA Foe Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. (CentreColonels.com) – The Centre men's tennis team opened the 2016 spring schedule with a 9-0 setback against Southern Athletic Association foe Sewanee on Sunday morning at the Charlotte Guerry Tennis Center. The Colonels even their record at 1-1 on the season while the Tigers move to 2-0.

In doubles action, the duo of senior Alex Wermeling (Lexington, Ky.) and freshman Ben Hadlock (Okemos, Mich.) scored five points in a close 8-5 decision.

Wermeling also won the most games among the Colonels in singles competition at the No. 3 slot.

Centre is back in action on Friday, Feb. 19 against Rose-Hulman at the DePauw Invitational.
