Colonels Bested by Visiting Millsaps

DANVILLE, Ky. (CentreColonels.com) – The Centre men's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision at the hands of Millsaps on Saturday in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) match. The Colonels fell to 5-9 overall and 1-3 in SAA action, while the Majors improved to 12-7 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.

Junior Caleb Smith (Morristown, Tenn.) picked up the lone victory on the day for Centre, earning a 7-5, 6-2 triumph at No. 5 singles over Josh Shearin.

Senior Alex Wermeling (Lexington, Ky.) and freshman Ben Hadlock (Okemos, Mich.) each forced three sets at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively.

The Colonels are right back in action tomorrow morning hosting Birmingham Southern in another SAA matchup in Danville.
