CHESTERTOWN, Md. (CentreColonels.com) - The Centre men's tennis team continued its 2017 spring break trip on Monday, taking on Washington (Md.) in a non-conference matchup. The Shoremen (5-1) topped the Colonels (4-5) by a score of 6-3. 

Freshman Trey Akmon (Louisville, Ky.) picked up a three-set victory at No. 3 singles, defeating Zachary Novick 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. 

Senior Luke Brooks (Pineville, Ky.) earned a 6-2, 6-3 triumph at the No. 5 singles slot for Centre over Washington, which came into the match ranked 20th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Atlantic South regional rankings. 

The duo of freshmen Adam Slone (Lexington, Ky.) and Max Middleton (Atlanta, Ga.) collected its third straight doubles win with an 8-3 victory at No. 2 doubles.

The Colonels cap their spring break trip with a Tuesday matchup at Haverford at 4 p.m. ET.
