Centre drops 7-2 decision at OWU

DELAWARE, Ohio – Centre men's tennis fell 7-2 against Ohio Wesleyan Saturday in the Gordon Field House.

The Colonels slip to 0-2 overall, while the Battling Bishops move to 2-2 with the win

Centre put up a solid battle in doubles action, especially in No. 3, where Max Middleton (Atlanta) and Ben Hadlock (Okemos, Mich.) dropped a 9-8(1) decision against OWU's Alex Lutz and Jake Volbers.

Centre earned two points in singles action, as Hadlock and Trey Akmon (Louisville, Ky.) each won in straight sets.

Hadlock defeated OWU's Ryan Simon, 6-1, 6-3, in No. 6 singles.

Akmon won his opening set against Pako Alevizopoulos, 6-1, before taking a narrow second set, 7-5, to earn a victory in the No. 3 singles bout.

Centre returns to action tomorrow, taking on Earlham in Lexington, Ky., at 1 p.m. ET.
