Men’s Track Takes Sixth Place at Centre Twilight

DANVILLE, Ky. (CentreColonels.com) – The Centre men's track team competed in their final regular season tune-up for the conference championship, the Centre Twilight meet. It was the second home meet for the Colonels in three weeks and the Centre men scored 68.5 points to finish in sixth place.

The lone event win for the Colonels on the men's side came in the javelin as senior Ivy Duggan (Rome, Ga.) took first place with a throw of 169-00. The Colonels placed three javelin throws in the scoring column as sophomore J.D. Dotson (White House, Tenn.) finished fourth and senior Dylan Dwyer (Middletown, Ohio) taking eighth.

In other throwing events, J.D. Dotson placed in two additional throws, finishing third in the hammer and fourth in the discus. Junior Joshua King (Stone Mountain, Ga.) also placed in two throws, as he took fourth place in the shot put and seventh in the discus. Freshman Bryce Whitman (Franklin, Tenn.) was Centre's highest finisher in the discus, taking third place.

In the jumping events, the Colonels placed four of the possible eight scorers in the pole vault. Ivy Duggan led the way for Centre with a third place finish in the event, and he was followed by senior Isaac Toney (Watkinsville, Ga.) in fifth, junior Stephen Orr (Murray, Ky.) in seventh and junior Seth Yocum (Danville, Ky.) in eighth. Centre also place a pair of scorers in the high jump as junior Elijah Scott (Cambridge, Mass.) finished in fifth and sophomore Brendan Holly (Sidney, Neb.) took eighth.

Rounding out the scoring performances for the Centre men, senior Victor Pataky (Columbus, Ohio) took sixth place for the Colonels in the 1500m. Sophomore Tristen Morrow (Danville, Ky.) finished seventh in the 100m. The 4x400 relay squad consisting of Pataky, Morrow, senior Daniel Graham (Granite Bay, Calif.) and junior Alex Stickney (Springboro, Ohio) posted a fourth place finish.

Next up for the Colonels will be the SAA Championships at Birmingham Southern on Apr. 22-23.
