Centre men finish sixth at Jenna Strong Fall Classic

WILMINGTON, Ohio – In the final meet before the Southern Athletic Association Championships, the Centre men's cross country team headed to Ohio to compete in the Jenna Strong Fall Classic at Wilmington. The Colonels placed sixth in the 30-team field.

The Colonels finished with 237 points for the meet, 30 points shy of fifth place Wooster. Shawnee State won the meet with 93 points, followed by Division II Findlay and Berea.

The top time of the day for Centre belonged to senior Nathan Riggs (Campbellsville, Ky.), who toured the 8k course at Wilmington in 26:18.1 to finish in eighth place overall.

Junior Keenan Jones (Frankfort, Ky.) posted an 8k time of 27:14.4, while freshman David McGrade (New Orleans, La.) landed just inside the individual top 50 with a time of 27:32.

Sophomores Matthew Gray (Fort Thomas, Ky.) and Evan Miller (Worthington, Ohio) rounded out Centre's scoring finishes of the day with respective times of 28:07.0 and 28:07.7.

The next meet for the Centre cross country teams will be the SAA Championships in Hampton, Ga. on Oct. 28.
