DANVILLE, Ky. (CentreColonels.com) - The Centre softball team dropped an 11-0 decision to visiting Birmingham Southern in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) series finale on Sunday afternoon at the South Campus Field.

The Colonels move to 20-16 on the year, including a 6-9 mark in SAA play with the loss, while the Panthers boosted their overall record to 18-15 overall and 8-8 in league action. 

Birmingham Southern first baseman Savannah Lee, the SAA leader in home runs, belted a pair of four-baggers in the contest, while pitcher Taylor Harkins tossed the complete game shutout for the Panthers. 

Freshman left fielder RileyAnne Sharpe (Huntsville, Ala.) was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate for Centre while senior first baseman Jessika Young (Leitchfield, Ky.) went 1-for-2. 

Junior pitcher Erika Brewer (Frenchburg, Ky.) suffered the loss for the Colonels, allowing five runs on seven hits with a pair of walks. 

Centre caps the regular season next weekend traveling to Memphis, Tenn. for a three-game series against Rhodes, who currently sits in third place in the SAA standings. The Colonels are sixth in the conference heading into the final week of the regular season.
