Swim teams split dual meet against Bellarmine, Franklin
The Centre swim teams each split a pair of meets on Saturday evening against Franklin and Bellarmine. Both the men's and women's team lost to Franklin and defeated Bellarmine.
The Centre men lost to Franklin 162-129 and defeated Bellarmine by a score of 155.5-126.5. Senior James Leary (Atlanta, Ga.) juniors Wes McCrary (Winchester, Ky.) and Jess Pritchett (Louisville, Ky.), and freshman Patrick Wells (Louisville, Ky.) took first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay. McCrary, Pritchett and Wells also posted a 1-2-3 finish in the 50-yard freestyle.
In other events reshman Ross Wilson (Lexington, Ky.) finished first in the 100-yard fly, while senior Travis Adams (Shelbyville, Ky.) took first place in both diving competitions at the 1m and 3m distances.
On the women's side, the Colonels lost 145-126 against Franklin and won 154-103 against Bellarmine. Centre picked up one relay victory and four individual wins. In relay competition, the team of seniors Rachel Carter (Rock Hill, S.C.), Maddie Mescher (Fort Mitchell, Ky.) and Clark Weber (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman Ginger Hall (Louisville, Ky.) finished first in the 200-yard medley relay.
In individual events, junior Danielle Wahl (Colorado Springs, Colo.) was a double winner, taking first in both the 500-yard freestyle and 1000-yard freestyle. Other individual winners include junior Hadley Judson (Atlanta, Ga.) in the 200-yard freestyle and sophomore Kristen Holliday (Newark, Del.) in the 200-yard butterfly.
The Colonels have two meets next week, a home tilt vs. Rhodes on November 15th and a trip to Transylvania the next day.
