Colonels drop dual meet at Cumberlands
The Centre swim teams competed in the first of two dual meets of the weekend against NAIA opponent the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky. The men lost 116.5-87.5 while the women lost 111-87.
On the men's side, the Colonels picked up one relay win and one individual win. The team of senior James Leary (Atlanta, Ga.) juniors Wes McCrary (Winchester, Ky.) and Jess Pritchett (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman Patrick Wells (Louisville, Ky.) took first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The individual winner for the Centre men was freshman Ross Wilson (Lexington, Ky.), who won first place in the 100-yard butterfly.
The Centre women also had one win in relay competition and one win in an individual event. The team of seniors Maddie Mescher (Fort Mitchell, Ky.) and Clark Weber (Louisville, Ky.) junior Hadley Judson (Atlanta, Ga.) and reigning SAA women's swimmer of the week, sophomore Kristen Holliday (Newark, Del.) won the foo-yard freestyle relay. Clark Weber also picked up where she left off in last week's Colonel Classic with another first place finish in the 500-yard freestyle.
The Colonels return to Boles Natatorium on Saturday afternoon for a home meet against Wittenberg.
