Swim teams split home meet vs. Wittenberg
The Centre swim teams returned to Boles Natatorium on Saturday to face Wittenberg in the second of two dual meets of the weekend. The men won 124-115 and the women lost 116-107.
On the men's side, the Colonels got a big win in relay competition as the team of senior James Leary (Atlanta, Ga.), juniors Wes McCrary (Winchester, Ky.) and Jess Pritchett (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman Patrick Wells (Louisville, Ky.) took first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The Colonels also had a pair of double event winners on the men's side. Patrick Wells won both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle, while junior John Kelley (Cincinnati, Ohio) won the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke.
The Centre women also picked up a relay win against Wittenberg. The team of senior Clark Weber (Louisville, Ky.), junior Hadley Judson (Atlanta, Ga.), sophomore Kirsten Larson (Taylor Mill, Ky.) and freshman Ginger Hall (Louisville, Ky.) won the 200-yard freestyle relay.
There were also five individual wins on the women's side. Clark Weber was the lone double event winner, taking first in both the 500-yard and 1000-yard freestyle. Hadley Judson finished first in the 200-yard freestyle, while Ginger Hall won the 100-yard butterfly. Sophomore Kristen Holliday (Newark, Del.) rounded out the wins for the Centre women in the 200-yard individual medley.
The Centre swim teams have one more meet on their schedule before the SAA Championships, as they will face Asbury in a home dual meet on January 31st.
