Centre men split, women drop dual meet at Franklin
The Centre swim teams went on the road to Franklin, Ind. to take on the Franklin Grizzlies and the Bellarmine Knights in a dual meet. The men's team came away with a split while the women's team fell to both opponents.
The Centre men fell to host school Franklin by a score of 154-135, but were able to come away with a victory over Bellarmine, winning 148-126.
On the men's side, the Colonels picked up one win in relay competition. The team of senior Spencer Vetter (Lexington, S.C.), sophomore Patrick Wells (Louisville, Ky.) and freshmen Noah Martin (Spartanburg, S.C.) and Logan Oatman (Paducah, Ky.) teamed up to take first place in the 200-yard medley relay.
Other event wins for the Centre men came courtesy of the 200-yard medley relay members. Noah Martin won both the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly, while Logan Oatman took first place in the 500-yard freestyle.
The Centre women had a difficult day in the pool on the scoreboard, losing 167-95 to Franklin and 175-86 to Bellarmine.
The lone event winner for Centre on the women's side was senior Danielle Wahl (Colorado Springs, Colo.). Wahl was a multiple event winner, taking first place in two of her signature events, the 500-yard and 1,000-yard freestyle.
Next up, the Colonels will compete in their first home meet of the season as they take on the Transylvania Pioneers on Nov. 7th in Boles Natatorium.
