Beach earns second straight weekly honor from CollegeSwimming.com
DANVILLE, Ky. - On Wednesday afternoon CollegeSwimming.com released its weekly conference awards and for the second week in a row, the website's Southern Athletic Association Women's Swimmer of the Week award went to senior Cameron Beach (Greenville, S.C.) of Centre College.
In a dominant performance by the Centre women against Sewanee, Beach picked up three wins as the Colonels defeated the Tigers 183-49 on Friday. Beach started with a win in her signature sprint, the 50-yard freestyle, taking the victory in 24.66, which represented her best 50-yard freestyle time as a college swimmer according to CollegeSwimming.com's data.
Later on in the meet she competed in the 100-yard freestyle and got her second win of the meet with a time of 56.87. Beach closed out her meet against Sewanee with a 200-yard freestyle relay anchor leg of 25.71 that helped her squad take first place in that event.
The Colonels will return to action this weekend as they travel to Indianapolis to compete in the House of Champions meet.
