PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (CentreColonels.com) - The Centre women's golf team moved up one spot on the leaderboard to wrap up their spring season opener as the Colonels took eighth place at the Callaway Gardens Collegiate.

Centre shot a combined team score of 326 for a three-shot improvement from their Monday round. The Colonels' two-day team score of 655 allowed the team to surpass Methodist in the tournament standings and finish four shots back of Oglethorpe.

Individually, two players shared the low score for the Colonels on Tuesday as juniors Jill Edgington (Edgewood, Ky.) and Alison Miller (Lexington, Ky.) each posted rounds of 77. Both players were aided by solid starts, shooting 37 on the front nine.

Junior Madison Grant (Lexington, Ky.) posted a round of 85 for Centre, while junior Eliza Hudson (Mauckport, Ind.) and freshman Cameron Cahill (Lexington, Ky.) finished with respective scores of 87 and 92, equalling their totals from Monday's round.

For the tournament, Edgington finished tied for eighth place overall with a two-day total of 154, while Miller finished tied for 16th place with a score of 158.

Next up for the Colonels will be one of the traditionally toughest tournaments on the spring schedule as Centre will return to Georgia to compete in the Jekyll Island Collegiate on Mar. 17-19.
