JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. (CentreColonels.com) - Junior Alison Miller (Lexington, Ky.) sits in a tie for eighth place while the No. 18 Centre women's golf team is 14th after day one of the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate at the Indian Mound Course. 

In a highly-competitive field which includes 10 teams in the top 25, the Colonels own a score of 329 through 18 holes.

No. 12 Claremont Mudd Scripps paces all teams with a 314, followed by No. 21 Washington (Mo.) with a 316 and No. 13 New York University with a 318. 

Miller, who recorded a 77 (+5), opened her round with a birdie on hole one followed by four consecutive pars. The junior capped the front nine with four bogies before shooting par on seven holes on the back nine to close out her showing at just two-over on the final nine holes. 

Junior Jill Edgington (Edgewood, Ky.) finished with a 79 (+7) through 18 holes, tallying one birdie on the front nine before recording seven pars on the back nine to cap her round with a plus-two on the back nine. 

Edgington is knotted for fourth in par-five scoring after day one with a 4.75 average. 

Miller and Edgington tied for sixth among all players on the day with a total of 11 pars, while Miller tied for fourth in par-four scoring (4.20). 

Junior Eliza Hudson (Mauckport, Ind.) posted an 81 on the first 18 holes, while junior Madison Grant (Lexington, Ky.) shot a 92 and freshman Cameron Cahill (Lexington, Ky.) a 95. 

Centre is back in action on day two of the Jekyll Collegiate on Saturday morning.
