JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. (CentreColonels.com) – The final 18 holes of the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate wrapped up earlier today from Indian Mound G.C. and the Centre women's golf team ended the tournament where they ended the opening day of competition, with a 14th place finish out of 23 teams.
The Colonels shot a combined team score of 344 on Sunday to finish three shots ahead of Bridgewater (Va.) and finished right behind Huntingdon and Sewanee. New York University used their Saturday score of 298 to defeat Rhodes and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and take first place.
Individually, junior Alison Miller (Lexington, Ky.) was the low scorer for the Colonels in both the Sunday round and the tournament, firing a score of 81 on Sunday to finish tied for 35th overall with a three-day score of 242. Miller shook off a tough front nine to record just two bogeys on the back on Sunday.
