Colonels in Fifth after Day Two of SAA Championships
MAUMELLE, Ark. (CentreColonels.com) – The Centre women's golf team sits in fifth place after 36 holes at the 2017 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Women's Golf Championship at Maumelle Country Club. The Colonels recorded a 341 on Saturday to sport a two-day score of 664 with 18 more holes to play on Sunday.
Oglethorpe and Berry are tied for the tournament lead with scores of 650, followed by Sewanee third with a 653 and Rhodes fourth with a 657.
Junior Jill Edgington (Edgewood, Ky.) is in second place at the event with a two-day score of 153, one shot back of Berry's Sydney Weaver. Edgington fired a 75 on Saturday, sinking a birdie on the 13th hole to go with 11 pars on the round. The junior paces the field in par-four scoring (+4) and is tied for second in par-three scoring (+1) and par-five scoring (+2). In addition, she has four birdies, good for second among all players.
Junior Eliza Hudson (Mauckport, Ind.) sits in a tie for 12th with a score of 164, while classmate Alison Miller (Lexington, Ky.) is tied for 16th with a 36-hole mark of 168 on the tournament. Miller closed her round with a birdie on No. 18 after sinking nine pars throughout the day.
Junior Madison Grant (Lexington, Ky.) has compiled a two-day score of 183 followed by freshman Cameron Cahill (Lexington, Ky.) with a 188.
