DESTIN, Fla. – After three weeks of waiting, the Centre women's golf team finally got its season underway at the toughest tournament of the fall, the Golfweek Division III Women's Preview. After 18 holes, the Colonels sit in 11th place.

Centre posted a combined team score of 335 on a day where the course wreaked havoc on teams. The Colonels are three shots back of both Oglethorpe and Sewanee, seven shots back of Huntingdon and eight shots back of Berry. NYU currently sits in first place.

Individually, the top scorer of the day for Centre was freshman Bailey Plourde (Newcastle, Maine), who birdied two of the first three holes of her collegiate career en route to an opening score of 80, good for a tie for 16th overall.

Senior Alison Miller (Lexington, Ky.) posted a score of 84 to wind up in the individual top 40, including three birdies on the front nine. Senior Eliza Hudson (Mauckport, Ind.) finished one shot back of Miller, firing a round of 85 for the Colonels on Sunday.
