Colonels move up to 11th at Golfweek Invitational

DESTIN, Fla. - Monday for the Centre women's golf team was a day to move up the leaderboard as the Colonels climbed from 13th to 11th at the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational.

The course at Baytowne G.C. was friendlier to the Colonels on Monday than it was the previous day as Centre improved by 18 shots, shooting a combined team score of 320 to jump Birmingham Southern and Rhodes in the standings. Centre sits five shots back of Oglethorpe and nine back of Sewanee. Washington University continues to lead the tournament.

Individually, Monday was an excellent day for freshman Bailey Plourde (Newcastle, Maine), who birdied two of her first four holes and then settled down after a rough patch with an even par back nine to post a score of 76. Plourde sits in a tie for tenth place overall.

Senior Eliza Hudson (Mauckport, Ind.) shot a round of 79 on Monday, improving on her Sunday score by five shots. The biggest Sunday-Monday improvement for the Colonels belonged to senior Alison Miller (Lexington, Ky.), whose round of 80 on Monday was an eight-shot difference from Sunday.

Senior Madison Grant (Lexington, Ky.) and junior Allie Henrie (Geneva, Ill.) finished off Centre's Monday round with respective scores of 85 and 91.
