Plourde leads Centre women on day 2 of SAA Tournament
DICKSON, Tenn. - The second day of play is in the books from the Southern Athletic Association Women's Golf Championships and Centre College remains in sixth place despite a 13-shot improvement from Friday's round.
The Colonels' round of 327 on Saturday represented the best turnaround of the tournament thus far. With 18 holes remaining, Centre trails Birmingham Southern by two shots. The Colonels made up three shots on Rhodes and 11 shots on BSC on the second day of play.
Individually, freshman Bailey Plourde (Newcastle, Maine) tied for the best round of the day by any player, posting a round of 76, including going one under on her first nine holes. Plourde tied two other players for the lowest round of the day and currently sits one shot back of Berry's Jorie Hodapp for the clubhouse lead with 18 holes left to play.
Lexington, Ky. natives Alison Miller and Cameron Cahill each fired rounds of 83 for the Colonels on Saturday. Miller's 83 keeps her just inside the individual top 20. Cahill's 83 represents one of the best scores of her sophomore campaign.
