  • Bellamah, Gibbons Earn IWLCA All-Region Accolades

    GRAND LAKE, Colo. (CentreColonels.com) – The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association recently announced its 2017 All-Region Teams, with Centre junior midfielders Hannah Bellamah (Loveland, Ohio) and Haden Gibbons (Chattanooga, Tenn.) earning All-West Region honors. Bellamah was a first team selection while Gibbons was named to the second team.

    ATLANTA (CentreColonels.com) – Earlier this week the Southern Athletic Association released its postseason awards for the 2017 women’s lacrosse season, as voted on by the league’s coaches, and Centre was well represented with eight players earning All-Conference status, highlighted by junior Hannah Bellamah (Loveland, Ohio) earning the SAA Offensive Player of the Year award.

(CentreColonels.com) – The Centre women’s lacrosse team, seeded fourth in the Southern Athletic Association final standings, hosted fifth seed Birmingham Southern in a rematch from February’s matchup that saw the Colonels prevail 15-5. The Panthers would prove to be a tougher out in the quarterfinal matchup, but Centre held on for a 16-15 and will advance to the semifinals.

    MEMPHIS (CentreColonels.com) – The Centre women’s lacrosse team was bested by first-place Rhodes by a score of 18-8 in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) road contest on Saturday afternoon. The Colonels move to 10-5 on the season and 4-2 in SAA play, while the Lynx boost their records to 15-0 and 6-0, respectively.

The win extends Centre’s streak to four victories in a row and improves the Colonels’ record to 7-2 on the year.
