WILMINGTON, Ohio (CentreColonels.com) – Sophomore midfielder Sarah Waldo (Bedford, Ind.) netted a pair of goals to help the No. 5 Centre women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over host Wilmington (Ohio) in the first game of the 2016 season on Thursday night.

Waldo scored the first two goals of the game, the first coming at the 32:40 mark of the first half, marking the first goal of the sophomore's career.

She then found the back of the net again just over three minutes into the second stanza.

Just under seven minutes later, junior forward Maggie Ely (Jacksonville, Fla.) found freshman forward Alana Hughes (Lexington, Ky.) for her first career goal, putting the Colonels ahead 3-0.

Reigning SAA Offensive Player of the Year and First Team All-American Destinie Graves (Lexington, Ky.) extended the Centre lead to 4-0 at the 73:18 mark of the contest.

The Colonels held advantages of 20-8 in shots and 13-1 in corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Olivia Alford (Louisville, Ky.) picked up the victory in net, making three saves on the night.

Taylor Scott paced the Quakers with three shots in the game.

Centre returns to action hosting John Carroll on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Hillside Field.
