DANVILLE, Ky. (CentreColonels.com) – Senior forward Destinie Graves (Lexington, Ky.) finished with a goal and an assist to lead the fifth-ranked Centre women's soccer team to a 2-0 shutout victory over visiting John Carroll on Saturday night at Hillside Field. The Colonels improved to 2-0-0 on the season, while the Blue Streaks dropped to 0-1-0.

In the 35th minute, Graves found sophomore forward Keeghan Francis (Knoxville, Tenn.) for a goal to give Centre the lead.

In the second half, Graves netted her second goal of the season off the assist by sophomore midfielder Sarah Waldo (Bedford, Ind.) in the 73rd minute of action.

The Colonels held John Carroll to just one shot for the remainder of the contest.

Centre outshot the Blue Streaks 20-7 and used an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks in the win.

Senior goaltender Olivia Alford (Louisville, Ky.) earned the win between the pipes, as the Colonel defenders allowed just one shot on goal.

Centre is right back in action tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 p.m. hosting Piedmont at Hillside Field.
