GRANVILLE, Ohio (CentreColonels.com) – The fifth-ranked Centre women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with host Denison in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at Piper Stadium. The Colonels, who recorded their second consecutive tie, moved to 6-0-2 on the season while the Big Red moved to 2-3-2.

Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half, but Denison's Grace Murray gave the Big Red a 1-0 lead early in the second half off the cross pass by Anne Denz in the 50th minute.

Centre would answer with two straight goals, the first coming from senior forward Destinie Graves (Lexington, Ky.) off the assist by senior defender Tori Dillard (Bowling Green, Ky.). Graves placed a ball into the upper 90 on a header after Dillard's free kick from 48 yards out.

Freshman forward Alana Hughes (Lexington, Ky.) gave the Colonels a 2-1 lead in the 80th minute off the assist by Graves. Graves slipped past the defense on the right side of the field and crossed a pass to a wide open Hughes.

Denison's Ashlyn Flaherty netted the equalizer in the 87th minute, sending the contest into overtime.

The Colonels would edge the Big Red 4-3 in shots in the bonus periods, but were not able to find the back of the net.

Centre outshot Denison 21-14 for the contest, including a game-high nine shots by Graves.

Colonel senior goaltender Olivia Alford (Louisville, Ky.) recorded nine saves in the match.
