ATLANTA, Ga. (CentreColonels.com) – The Centre women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2016 campaign by a score of 2-1 in double-overtime on the road at Emory on Sunday afternoon. The Colonels, who lost their first regular season game in over a year, move to 8-1-2 on the season while the Eagles improve to 5-3-0.

In the 75th minute, Emory's Madison Phaneuf evened the score at 1-1 with a goal off the double assist by Sophia Dillon and Nikki Batt.
The Colonels recorded two shots in the final 10 minutes of action, but the Eagles were able to preserve the tie and send the contest into overtime.
In the second bonus period, Caroline Kolski found the back of the net off a rebound to lift Emory to the 2-1 victory.
The Eagles outshot Centre 19-7 in the win, including a 3-0 advantage in the overtime periods.
Senior goalkeeper Olivia Alford (Louisville, Ky.) tallied four saves on the day for the Colonels. Graves had a game-high six shots in the game.
Centre closes the non-conference portion of its schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 28 hosting Berea at 7 p.m. at Hillside Field. The contest is the Colonels' first of four consecutive home games.
