Otterbein hands Centre women’s soccer its first loss of the season

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The 18th-ranked Centre College women's soccer squad dropped its first match of the season, getting shut out on the road at Otterbein, 2-0.
The Colonels move to 2-1-1 with the loss, while the host Cardinals remain undefeated at 3-0-1.
Otterbein quickly got on the board, netting a goal less than one minute into the match the immediately put the Colonels on their heels.
Emily Ganz made it 2-0 a few minutes before the half on a cross from Myiah Kelley, and that proved enough for the hosts.
Centre would get off seven of its 10 shots in the second half, but the lone shot on goal was saved by Otterbein's keeper. Overall, the Cardinals out-shot the Colonels 14 to 10.
Freshman Rachael Boule (West Barnstable, Mass.) had two of Centre's three shots on target.
Senior goalie Sarah Youkilis (Lexington, Ky.) had six saves between the pipes for Centre.
The Colonels return to action next Saturday, Sept. 16, hosting Denison at 1 p.m. at Amend Field.
