Centre held scoreless in 1-0 loss against Denison
Shots (on goal)
DANVILLE, Ky. – Centre women's soccer dropped its second match in a row Saturday afternoon, falling 1-0 to the visiting Denison Big Red at Amend Field.
The Colonels move to 2-2-1 overall with the loss, while Denison improves to 3-2-2. It also marks nearly two years to the day since Centre's last home defeat – a 2-0 loss back on Sept. 19, 2015, also against Denison.
Centre put five of its nine shots on goal, led by Alana Hughes' (Lexington, Ky.) two on target.
Denison managed 12 shots and only two on goal, but the one that decided the match came in the 57th minute. The Big Red's Allison Vilsack scored an unassisted goal that proved the difference.
Denison keeper Jenny Herold totaled five saves in-goal, while Centre's Sarah Youkilis (Lexington, Ky.) finished with one stop.
The Colonels have a quick turnaround before hosting Wilmington (Ohio) Sunday a 1 p.m. ET at Amend Field.
