CHESTERTOWN, Md. (CentreColonels.com) - The Centre women's tennis team picked up a 9-0 shutout triumph over host Washington (Md.) on Monday for its second consecutive victory. The Colonels boosted their record to 5-6, while the Shoremen fall to 3-2.

Sophomore Neha Rao (London, Ky.) improved to 6-0 on Centre's spring break trip, earning a 6-3, 7-5 win at top singles after an 8-3 triumph at No. 1 doubles with junior Aliza Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio). 

Williams also picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles in the contest. 

Sophomores Emily Zelichenok (Louisville, Ky.) and Abigail Kent (College Station, Texas) along with senior Courtney DeLong (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman Zena Maddux (Hopkinsville, Ky.) all bested their respective opponents in singles play by a combined score of 48-7 over Washington, a team which came into the match eighth in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Atlantic South regional rankings. 

The tandems of Zelichenok/Maddux as well as DeLong/Kent also downed the Shoremen in doubles action. 

In addition, freshman Emma Ramsey (Georgetown, Ky.) bested her opponent 8-3 in singles play, while the duo of senior Mary Chapin Snow (Elizabethtown, Ky.) and Kenny Snow (Elizabethtown, Ky.) earned an 8-1 triumph in doubles competition. 

Centre seeks its third straight win on the road at Haverford Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.
