MOUNT BERRY, GA. - The Centre volleyball team saw its 2017 season come to an end on Friday night as the Colonels lost to the Hendrix Warriors in four sets in the opening round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament.
In the opening set, the Colonels grabbed the early lead and kept it for most of the frame until the Warriors stormed back with five consecutive points to tie the score at 18-18. Centre was never able to regain the momentum from this run, eventually falling by a score of 25-22.
The second set played out in a similar fashion, with Centre leading early and Hendrix utilizing a 10-1 run to take the lead for good. In the fourth set Hendrix would put the match away early, scoring the first ten points of the frame and never looking back, sealing the deal on the win with a 25-11 victory.
