Centre women take fourth place at Jenna Strong Fall Classic

WILMINGTON, Ohio – In their last competition before the Southern Athletic Association Championships, the Centre women's cross country team headed to Ohio to race in the Jenna Strong Fall Classic at Wilmington. The Colonels placed fourth out of 32 teams, but first out of all Division III teams in the field.

The Colonels finished with 133 points at the meet, 18 points ahead of Morehead State. Cleveland State won the meet with 45 points, with Shawnee State and Miami University rounding out the top five.

Individually, the Colonels had all five scorers land in the overall top 50 for the race, led by junior Annie Rodenfels (Centerville, Ohio), who completed the 5k course in 18:00.3 for an impressive second place finish.

Sophomore Courtney Gibson (Catlettsburg, Ky.) posted a time of 19:32.1 to finish just inside the individual top 20 in 19th place. Freshman Hallie Searcy (Louisville, Ky.) finished with a time of 19:46.9.

Senior Marisa Moore (Glasgow, Ky.) and freshman Alison Anderson (Hixson, Tenn.) finished off Centre's scoring times for the meet, clocking in at respective times of 20:05.8 and 20:11.0.

The next meet for the Centre cross country teams will be the SAA Championships in Hampton, Ga. on Oct. 28.
