Jane Hopkinson-Wood

Jane Hopkinson-Wood joined the Centre golf coaching staff in the summer of 2018, taking over as the women's head coach prior to the 2019 schedule. She became Level 1 TPI certified in 2020.

The Colonels continued their quick rise under her leadership in 2021, finishing sixth at the NCAA Division III Championships after capturing the program's second ever Southern Athletic Association title. Rylee Suttor excelled for Coach Hopkinson-Wood, becoming a WGCA First Team All-American and SAA Player of the Year. Margaret Butts and Meghan Grant also brought in All-Region honors for the 2021 season.

In her first full season as head coach at Centre, Hopkinson-Wood guided the Colonels back into the national top 25 as the team set team and individual scoring records with their performance at the Huntingdon Invite. She also helped Bailey Plourde become the first All-American for Centre women's golf since Whitney Miller accomplished the feat in 2013.

Hopkinson-Wood came to Centre directly from Wittenberg University, where she had one of the most decorated career in the history of Wittenberg women's golf. While with the Tigers, Hopkinson-Wood was a four-time All-American, the only one in program history, capping off her career with a third place finish at the 2018 NCAA Championships.

A native of Pottstown, Pa., Hopkinson-Wood won two medalist honors at the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament in her four years at Wittenberg, with her victory in the 2018 conference championship marking the 15th tournament victory of her collegiate career.

In a playing career full of accolades, Hopkinson-Wood was a four-time NCAC Player of the Year, the NCAC Newcomer of the Year as a freshman and a 20-time NCAC Player of the Week in her time at Wittenberg as she helped the Tigers reach their first team NCAA appearances as a program, including third place finishes as a team in the 2016 and 2017 seasons and a runner-up finish in 2015.
