Box Score A first half goal was all that was needed as the Centre College women's soccer team extended its winning streak to 10 with a 1-0 win over Austin College Sunday, Oct. 17 in Sherman, Texas.
With the win, the Colonels improve to 14-1 overall and 7-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). The loss drops Austin to 10-3 overall and 5-3 in league play. The 11-match winning streak is now the longest in school history breaking the record of 10 straight wins in 1995.
Senior Brittany Garr (Louisville, Ky.) scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season at the 30:05 mark in the first half off an assist from freshman Morgan Collins (Utica, Mich.) and the defense did the rest.
Centre out-shot the Kangaroos 14-9 on the day and had a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
Junior Kelli Lenz (Louisville, Ky.) posted her fifth shutout win in goal for the Colonels. Lenz stopped all four shots she faced in the win.
Centre will next host DePauw University Saturday, Oct. 23. The SCAC match is set to start at 5 p.m. in Danville, Ky.
