Box Score The Centre women's soccer team lost to Trinity 1-0 during their final regular season game on Sunday, November 7 in Danville, Ky. Centre dropped to 15-4 overall and 8-2 in the SCAC. Seven seniors were recognized before the start of the match.
During the first half of action, the #25 Colonels held their ground against the #6 Tigers. Trinity would score in the 24th minute, when Abigail Loar found the back of the net from the top of the box on an assist from Lindsey Neubauer to make it a 1-0 game.
Trinity had five shots in the first half of play, while Centre had one shot. The Colonels had the 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Junior Kelli Lenz (Louisville, Ky.) made a couple of big saves during the first half of action, as she went on to make three saves in the half.
The Centre offense would have several chances to score in the second half, but they were unable to connect on their three corner kicks and nine shot opportunities. The Colonels defense also played well in the second half as they held Trinity to only four shots and two corner kicks, while not giving up a goal. Lenz finished the game with four saves.
The Colonels finished the season by taking second place in the conference, as Trinity was first overall.
