The Centre College volleyball team stepped out of conference action to play in-state rival Transylvania University and fell 3-0 to the Pioneers Tuesday, Oct. 4 in Lexington, Ky.

Centre fell 25-14 in both games one and two and then dropped game three 25-20. The loss drops the Colonels to 11-9 overall, while Transylvania improves to 13-7 this season.

Freshman Suzanne Asbury (Louisville, Ky.) paced Centre with seven kills. Senior Hannah Greer (Owensboro, Ky.) had 16 assists, while senior Laura Hench (Lexington, Ky.) tallied 11 digs in the defeat.

The Colonels will return to action Saturday, October 8 when they participate in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) East/West Divisional hosted by Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Centre will play Austin College at 12 p.m. CST and then Trinity at 6 p.m. CST.
