The Centre College volleyball team lost to Austin College and Trinity University Saturday, Oct. 8 on day one of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) East/West Divisional in San Antonio, Texas.

The Colonels opened the day falling in three games to Austin 25-13, 25-11, 25-21. Senior Stephanie Woeste (Louisville, Ky.) had eight kills and four blocks. Sophomore Lydia Prevost (Knoxville, Tenn.) had five kills, while senior Hannah Greer (Owensboro, Ky.) and junior Jenna Foushee (Louisville, Ky.) added 10 digs each.

In the later match, Centre again fell in three games, this time to Trinity 25-21, 25-21, 25-19. Woeste again paced the Colonels' offensive attack with 10 kills and two blocks. Freshman Suzanne Asbury (Louisville, Ky.) tallied eight kills and two blocks. Greer posted 30 assists and Foushee finished with 14 digs in the defeat.

Centre will return for day two of the divisional Sunday, Oct. 9 with matches against Southwestern University at 11 a.m. CST and the University of Dallas at 1 p.m. CST.
