Centre junior Maggie Prewitt (Mt. Sterling, Ky.) has been selected to the
2010-11 D3hoops.com All-South Region First Team.
Prewitt finished the season ranked 12th in the nation in three-point field-goal percentage (43.1) and 27th in points per game (18.9) for Division III. She also completed her junior season leading the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in assists with 106 (4.21 per game) and she is second in the conference in scoring with 492 points (average of 18.9 points per game). Prewitt is also second in three point field goal percentage (43.1%), third in assist/turnover ratio (1.2), tied for fourth in three point field goals made (2.3), and fifth in free throw percentage (80.9%).
On Friday, January 7 Prewitt recorded her 1,000 career point and she ended the season with 1,277 career points, which already constitutes the second-highest total by any Centre player in the SCAC era-behind former teammate Chelsea Goodman, who had 1,365 points.
Prewitt was named the SCAC Player-of-the-Year and she was also named to the All-SCAC First Team after leading the Colonels to a 17-9 season and to an 11-5 record in the SCAC.
