The Centre field hockey team dropped its second straight match, falling by a score of 3-1 at Denison on Saturday.

The only score for the Colonels on the day came at the beginning of the second half when Sydney White (Louisville, Ky.) scored on an assist from Courtney Kuiper (Louisville, Ky.) off a penalty corner. The goal, which was White's first on the season and Kuiper's second assist, helped cut a 2-0 deficit to 2-1, but Centre was unable to get any closer.

Although Denison outshot Centre 10-2 in the first half, the game remained scoreless through the first 30 minutes. With 3:17 remaining in the half, Denison's Molly Chapman scored off assists from Katie McMahon and Hillary Zdanowske. Just one minute later, Tonie Michaels put Denison up 2-0 on a shot from the top of the arc.

After pulling within one on White's goal, Centre outshot Denison 8-2 in the second half but was unable to break through again. With just under 13 minutes to play, Alex Berman scored an unassisted goal on a loose ball in front of the cage to arrive at the final total of 3-1.

Cece Lindsey (Louisville, Ky.) had three saves in goal for Centre while Brittany Benson saved seven shots for Denison. Denison outshot Centre 12-10 for the match while Centre held a 6-3 edge in penalty corners.

With the loss, Centre falls to 2-3 on the year and returns to action Sunday at Transylvania.
