One day after sweeping a pair of matches to open its season, the Centre College volleyball team dropped two matches on day two of the Pomona-Pitzer Classic to Augsburg College and Chapman University Saturday, Sept. 3 in Claremont, Calif.

The Colonels (2-2) fell in three games to Augsburg 25-18, 25-21, 25-14.

Sophomore Catherine Janszen (Cincinnati, Ohio) led had nine kills and eight digs. Senior Hannah Greer (Owensboro, Ky.) tallied 17 assists and 10 digs. Senior Evis Muhameti (Boston, Mass.) add three aces, while senior Stephanie Woeste (Louisville, Ky.) finished with four blocks.

In match two of the day for the Colonels, Chapman won 25-22, 25-23 and 25-21 for the victory.

Janszen again led the way with 10 kills, 12 digs and a service ace. Woeste notched 11 kills, four blocks and two aces. Greer posted 34 assists, Hench 17 digs and freshman Suzanne Asbury (Louisville, Ky.) recorded nine kills and five blocks in the defeat.

Centre will next travel to the College of Mount St. Joseph Wednesday, Sept. 7. The match is set to start at 7:30 p.m. in Cincinnati, Ohio.
