Box Score After defeating Bellarmine 2-1 a month ago, the Centre field hockey team fell to the Knights by the same score in a rematch Wednesday in Louisville, Ky.
The Colonels were the first to score in the game, taking a 1-0 lead 26 minutes in when Erin Bacon (Williamsburg, Va.) scored on an assist from Courtney Kuiper (Louisville, Ky.), but the lead would not hold up for long. Less than two minutes later, Bellarmine's Brittany Raque scored off the rebound of her own shot to tie the game at one.
The game went to halftime at 1-1 and stayed that way until Raque scored the game-winner with 21 minutes left to play.
Centre was able to stay in the game until the end, despite being outshot 18-4 by the Knights, who also held a 10-2 advantage in penalty corners. Cece Lindsey (Louisville, Ky.) made eight saves in the cage for Centre while Bellarmine's Alex Moro took the win without having to make a save.
Following the contest, each team's record stands at 6-7 on the year. The Colonels return home to take on Sewanee on Sunday in the final home game of the year.
