Berry avenged its only conference loss with a sweep of Centre this evening.  The Colonels managed only 45 points, and chose a bad time to play poorly since, entering the match, Centre itself had just two league defeats.

Junior Catherine Janszen (Cincinnati, OH) and sophomore Suzanne Asbury (Louisville, KY) each had six kills; and Asbury was good for two blocks.  Kary Stivers, the junior from Louisville, KY, produced 11 assists.

Centre has shown flashes of brilliant play at times this season; but it would be a huge understatement to acknowledge that inconsistent effort has been a consistent problem.  Nevertheless, while the start of this Georgia weekend for Centre resulted in a lackluster performance, the young team has opportunities to exhibit some toughness and to "get going" tomorrow and Sunday, against Oglethorpe and Piedmont, respectively.
