The Centre College men's basketball team won its third straight game with a 75-59 non-conference road win over Berea College Friday, December 14 in Berea, Ky.

With the win, the Colonels improve to 5-2 overall, while the Mountaineers have now lost five in a row and fall to 7-6. 

Centre held a four-point lead at the half after shooting 44.8% (13-29) from the field, including six of 13 (46.2%) from beyond the three-point arc. 

Interestingly enough, both the Colonels and the Moutaineers shooting numbers from each half were identical. Centre also made 13 of 29 shots in the second half, while Berea hit 12 of 28 attempts from the field in both halves. 

The Colonels had a slight edge in rebounds (36-35) and had four less turnovers in the game (17-13) than Berea.

Freshman Blake Scinta (Louisville, Ky.) scored a team-high 14 points off the bench to lead Centre. Senior Bryon Ellis (Russell Springs, Ky.) and junior Donovan Whiteside (Knoxville, Tenn.) had 13 points each. Freshman Tyler Wesley (Crestwood, Ky.) recorded his first career double-double with 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, while sophomore Chris Taylor (Louisville, Ky.) added 10 points and three assists.

Berea was led by Tevin Webster's 15 points and seven rebounds. Koty Riley also finished in double figures with 13 points.

Centre will take some time off for the holidays and return to action Friday, Dec. 28 against Miami-Middletown as part of the Thomas More Tournament. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. in Crestview Hills, Ky.
