Box Score The Centre College men's lacrosse team lost to Denison (No. 11 in the USILA Coaches' Poll) 21-7 on Sunday.
"Today we played a very good lacrosse team in Denison University. They are a perennial lacrosse power in the Division III ranks," Centre head coach Bert Severns said. "We played well, but not at the level we are capable of playing."
This was the first game of four games during a ten-day spring break trip for Centre men's lacrosse. The trip begin in Charlottesville, Va. and will end with a game in Conway, Ark. against Hendrix College, after playing Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga. and opening up the very competitive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule against last years' conference champion, Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Centre was lead in scoring with three goals from first-year midfielder Wes Hardman (Narragansett, R.I./Moses Brown), and sophomore attackman Connor Stubbs (Decatur, Ga./Decatur) had 2 goals and 2 assists. Sophomores Patrick Evans (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual) and Peter Murphy (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) both contributed one goal and sophomore Zack Connors (Louisville, Ky./Trinity) gave the Colonels three assists.
Centre College men's lacrosse will next defend its 4-1 record on Tuesday, March 20 at 4 p.m. against Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga.
